Chill Out on Hypnotism

Swindon Link Magazine December 2002

As a single mum (to Connor aged 4), Jenni Fowler, the successful advertising person for West Swindon's "Link Magazine, turned to hypnotherapy to help relive the stress in her life.

Jenni says, "It was one day when Connor, looked up and said to me, "You're always angry and shouting at me", that I got a real jolt. I thought about the cups of coffee and cigarettes I was consuming each day, I knew that he was right. Telling yourself to slow down and stay calm, when your instincts as a mum and provider tell you that you must fight for survival is easier said than done".

Jenni continues, "Like a lot of people, I was sceptical about hypnotherapy and even apprehensive, having seen TV shows and heard about antics on stage. But Andrew Hill was very reassuring".

As a result of her sessions, Jenni has cut down on coffee, is smoking less and feels like a nicer, but stronger person. Jenni comments, "Although I remained conscious when Andrew was talking, I really couldn't be bothered to move and disturb the wonderful peace. It's very enjoyable and absolutely nothing to be apprehensive of. I have definitely found a new level of calm within myself and my working day is a lot less frantic. I seem to be more organised, but more importantly I've found that Connor is asking for fewer external entertainments. He seems to be finding me a nicer person to be around. I think I've found a new self".
